Thank you for visiting my Website, which features my published fiction writing – micro fiction, flash fiction (mostly), shorts, and a novella, as well as a couple of interviews about writing.
My first piece of fiction was written in the first grade, when I was sent to my room as punishment and I wrote a one-pager (which today we would call micro-fiction) about a young boy being sent to his room, and his well-reasoned decision to run-away in response. After pursuing a career in acting and attending NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, I eventually turned back to writing, leading to an MFA in fiction writing from Brooklyn College.
In these pages you will find the stories I have published over the course of the last several years. (Please note that publications come and go, often without notice. If the link to the publication is broken or brings you to an error, in most cases you can still read the story within the links here.) You can go to the HOME page and see a list of all the stories in order of publications (most recent first) or you can explore one of the particular Categories found in the column to the right.
The stories are preceded with a smattering of information about the publication history, inspirations, etc. I also include, in most cases, the BIO that ran with the story in its publication. Therefore, I don’t offer much in terms of biographical information here, except to say:
I hail from a small coastal town in Washington State (think Kurt Cobain and you’d hit a bullseye). I have lived in New York City for 30 +years, and I am lucky enough to spend many weekends upstate in the Catskills of Sullivan County, NY.
Please stop by again, as content will be added as new stories get published. I can also be reached and/or followed via twitter @jedwardkruft.
